Points Of Interest Near The Hotel

In the heart of the French Quarter, you can visit many popular attractions right out the front door.

The French Market

For over 200 years, the historic French Market has been an enduring symbol of pride and progress for the people of New Orleans. While the Market has existed on the same site since 1791, each new decade and governing flag has brought dramatic changes to the Market and helped to secure its special place in the hearts of the people of New Orleans.

What began as a Native American trading post on the banks of the mighty, muddy Mississippi River on the site chosen for the City by the French, has become a cultural, commercial and entertainment treasure which the Crescent City proudly shares with the world.

Today, America’s oldest public market has assumed a leading role in the local economy as well, providing consistently increasing revenues for city government while putting millions of dollars back into the local economy.

Jackson Square

Historic Jackson Square, originally known in the 18th century as “Place d’Armes,” and later renamed in honor of the Battle of New Orleans hero Andrew Jackson, is a timeless attraction in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans.

This famous landmark facing the Mississippi River is surrounded by historic buildings, including the St. Louis Cathedral, the Presbytere and Cabildo (Louisiana State Museums), not to mention the Lower and Upper Pontalba Apartments, the oldest apartment buildings in the United State. The Pontalba Apartments offer retail shops, museums, galleries and restaurants on the ground level; their second and third floors still house a selection of prestigious apartments.

For well over a half-century, there has been a plein air artist colony at Jackson Square. Local artists paint, draw, create portraits and caricatures, and display their work on the square’s iron fence. Some have been there for generations!

Jackson Square is a favorite site for visitors and locals. The artists, restaurants, museums, merchants and the square itself make Jackson Square one of the French Quarter’s most popular destinations.

Decadent Ducks and Hotel Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy

The hotel relies on us to fill a certain number of rooms, and cancellations may create a vacancy that is not easy to fill. For this reason, any cancellation after August 1, will incur a cancellation fee of 1 nights room and tax if the room cannot be re-sold. This fee will be charged to your credit card on file at the time of cancellation, and refunded if the room is re-sold.

Modification Policy

You may request changes to existing reservations at any time, and every attempt will be made to make the change on your behalf. Date changes are usually very easy to make, but changes to the room type are not always as easy to make, especially as the event date gets closer. It is highly recommended that you speak with Decadent Duck Events staff in order to discuss room type changes.

No-Show Policy

The hotel relies on us to fill a certain number of rooms, and by not showing up for your reservation makes it impossible for the hotel or Decadent Duck Events to sell the room. For this reason, anyone who does not arrive for their reservation will be charged for the entire reservation. One night will be charged to your credit card on file by the hotel, and the balance will be charged to your credit card on file by Decadent Duck Events.

Directions To Hotel

Hotel can be reached from airport by cab. Fare is approximately $30 plus tip for 2-3 passengers.

Services such as Super Shuttle are also available.

Some Duck guests group their arrival times and hire a limousine to take them into town as a group, which often works out to the same price. Contact Troy for more information about Limo Service.
